History

Callan technology is a motion company specializing in the manufacture of brush DC servomotors. The company was formed in 2001 upon acquisition of the DC servomotor business of Inland Kollmorgen Ireland Ltd (subsequently AEG Servo Systems and more  recently Pacific Scientific Ireland).      The company’s mian history is :

1958       Kollmorgen Corp. of USA opens subsidiary in Radford, Virginia USA, to manufacture high performance permanent magnet servomotors

1973       Inland Kollmorgen opens subsidiary factory in Ennis Ireland to serve the growing European market

1980       R&D dept .of Inland Kollmorgen(Ireland) opens to develop new motor topologies for European machine tool, robotics and general automation market.

1988      AEG, Germany acquire Inland Kollmorgen (Ireland)

1997       Pacific Scientific Corp, USA acquires AEG (Inland) Ireland which becomes Pacific Scientific Ltd.

1999             Danaher Corp, USA acquires Pacific Scientific

2000      Danaher Corp, USA acquires Kollmorgen Inland USA

2001      Danaher Corp, USA exit manufacture of motor in Ireland and DC brush motor business of Danaher Motion, Ireland is acquired by Callan Technology Ltd Callan Technology commences operation in DEC.2001 with two primary product lines, M4-200x and M4-295x.

2003      Callan Technology relaunches M4-420x (146mm DC servomotor)_

2004      Callan Technology launches new small DC servomotor (63mm),C4-16x.
